Kym passes on tips.
At the
County Squad coaching session on 6th Dec, Kym Larratt of the
Ladies European Tour, talked about her practice regime and the
girls had their swing compared to Kym's via the computer. Kym is
off to Australia before Christmas. We wish her the best of luck.

Alice Watson was announced as the County Girls Captain for 2012
at the annual Presentation Evening. Alice (Park Hill & Rothley
Park)is a twice winner of the Girls Championships (2009 &10) and
players at no.1 or 2 in the girls team. She is also a member of
the ladies second team squad. Alice has already announced the
date for her County Captain's Day (14th Aug at Park Hill), so
put the date in your diary.
Harriet Hewitt (Glen
Gorse) will be her vice
captain.
We wish them both a really enjoyable and successful year.
Presentation Evening a great success.
Over 60 girls, parents, volunteers and supporters attended the
evening at Forest Hill Golf Club on 23rd November.
Kym Larratt
(Kibworth GC and
Ladies European Tour player) was the guest of honour and
re-presented the major trophies from the year. Awards were also
made for most improved players to
Kate Frankham
(Lutterworth),
Laura Taylor
(Willesley Park) &
Charlotte
Bowers
(Market Harborough).


Ellie York
(Forest Hill) received her county colours. Kym then held a Q&A
session which lasted over half an hour. There were lots of
questions, especially from our two youngest players Bethany
Swain and Abigail Wilkin.

Laura Taylor part of winning team in the County Teams AMAM.
Laura teamed
up with County Ladies Champion Tracy Bourne, Chris Abbott and
Liam Plant to win the annual competition held at Cosby on Oct.
23rd. In the second placed team was Briony Allen and in the
third was Ellie York.

A
win in our final league game v Shrops on 25th Sept at Forest
Hill, by 4-2, leaves Leics & Rutland girls in 3rd place
out of 6 counties in the Midlands North 1st Team League.
The 2nd Team finished 2nd out of 5 in their league.

Rain fails to dampen Florence's Captain's Day at Rothley Park on
26th Aug.
An
excellent turnout braved constant rain to play in a stableford
tournament in great spirit. The day raised £500 towards the Find
Madeleine Fund. The overall winner was Emily Jefferson (Glen
Gorse). Well done to Florence and her band of helpers and also

Maryam Kham won 2nd Nett at the Midlands Girls North
Championships at Beeston Firelds.
Maryam was also part of the Nett team including Leah Radford and
Laura Taylor who won 2nd Nett team prize. For all L&R results go

Four Counties Successes for Leicestershire
Girls. Hinckley GC 17th August. Congratulations
to Briony Allen (Cosby) for becoming Nett Champion with a
nett 65. Leicestershire also won the Scratch Team Prize (
Florence King, Alice Watson & Evie Carter). For all players

Leicestershire & Rutland Girls at the English Girls
Championships.
Eight girls took part in Buckinghamshire in the Championships.
Best result was from Imogen Huxley in the Under 15's where
scores of 79,78,74,75, secured 24th place and a prize for 3rd
Best Nett, at Mentmor GC. Really
well done Imogen. Beth Varnham Fisher played well to make the
cut in the Under 18 event at the challenging Ellesborough
course, where Alice Watson missed out on the cut by one shot and
Florence King by three. Evie Carter and Rebecca Hovell
missed out by 6 shots. Harriet Hewitt and Kate Frankham had some
unlucky breaks, but battled well around a tough course. For full

Evie Carter finished runner up in the Midlands North Ladies
Championships
at Longcliffe GC on
5th July. Four County Girls entered, with three progressing to
the match play stages. In the top tier Evie won her quarter
final and semi final before losing on the 18th in the final to
Staffs County Captain and former professional Julie Brown. Evie
played great golf over the two days. In the second tier match
play Beth Fisher won through to the semi finals and Rebecca
Hovell to the final, where she lost to former Leics Girls
Captain Celeste Currie. Unfortunately the fourth county girl,
Maryam Khan, missed out on the match play stage but will have
benefitted from the experience.

County Girls secure win over Lincolnshire Girls 41/2
-11/2.

Evie Carter (Longcliffe) won the Girls' County Championships
at Whetstone
GC (26.6.11) with a gross 75. Laura Taylor (Willesley Park) won
the Nett Championships with a nett 66. For full results and

Florence King recorded two wins in two matches for the County
Ladies Team at County week.
Well done Florence.
Imogen Huxley has made it three wins in a row at Rutland
County's Ladies Club Championships.
All were achieved by
the age of 14.
Imogen Huxley has qualified for the Abraham Trophy final.
This is held
the day before the English Girls Championships over the
Championship's course at Ellesborough GC in Buckinghamshire.
This is limited to 20 girls from all over the country who have
qualified through their handicap reductions over the previous 12
months. Well done to Imogen and good luck.
Well done to Florence King and Imogen Huxley who both qualified
for their Regional Schools Championships.
Florence
qualified for the Midlands Schools via the Leicestershire
Championships and Imogen for the North via the Lincolnshire
Championships. Good luck to both girls in the next round.
A
good weekend for the county girls squad at the Ladies County
Championships at Scraptoft GC - 6th -8th May.
Nine of the girls
squad took part in the championships, with five qualifying from
the stroke play to the weekend's match play.

Evie Carter- Russell Trophy Runner up, Jo Morris - County
Captain and Florence King - Best Nett
County Girls Captain,
Florence King
shot 77,78 to take
the best nett prize (nett 143) and to qualify in 3rd place on
gross scores for the match play stages, where she was knocked
out in the first round by last year's girls captain Zoe North.
In
the Russell Trophy (second tier match play),
Evie Carter, Imogen
Huxley,
Emily Blount
and Harriet Hewitt all
qualified, with Evie and Imogen making it to the
semi's where they had to play each other. Evie won through to
the final where she lost to Helen Lowe (2 down).
Well
done to all the girls who took part, you were a credit to
yourselves and the
county girls.
Especially
bad luck to Amy Taylor (knee) and Beth Varnham Fisher (nose

A busy period
over the Bank Holiday resulted in a win v the Boys
and a loss to Staffs for the 1st Team and a win for the 2nd
Team. The County Girls Development Squad finished 3rd in the
Triangle Shield.
